Sylvester’s opened in 1983. Soon after opening, waiting lines would form on weekends and soon after that waiting lines were common during the week as well. In 1993 an addition was added to accommodate the people and to add more space to our kitchen and dining room. Customers continued to line up and in 2002 another addition was added to alleviate the crowding.
Sylvester’s has been serving up great homemade foods for breakfast and lunch for 26 years now and we are so grateful to all our customers for their continued support. In those years we’ve cracked millions of eggs, rolled and baked thousands and thousands of loaves of our homemade breads and poured millions of cups of coffee. We appreciate that people appreciate what we do.

We are members of CISA. Community involved in Sustaining Agriculture. Our Yogurt is made locally at Sidehill Farm in Ashfield. Our Dairy products come from Mapleline Farm in North Hadley. Our Maple syrup comes from Snowshoe farm in Worthington. Our goat cheese is from Goat Rising Farm in Charlemont. When possible, a lot of our vegetables come from Red Fire Farm in Granby. All of our eggs are free range organic eggs from The Country Hen in Hubbardston. The Massachusetts Department of Public Health warns that consuming raw or under cooked foods may increase the incidence of food borne illness especially for those with compromised immune systems.
